Diary

On Sunday 7 September, The Right Reverend Christopher Hill, Bishop of Guildford, confirmed 9 candidates during the morning service at Pirbright Church.Over the previous few months they had met with Revd. Chris for confirmation preparation sessions, much enjoyed by all and tackling varied aspects of Christian faith and commitment. It was a wonderful celebration in a packed Church, and afterwards everyone enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the Church hall, provided by members of the Church. A fantastic addition was a cake baked specially for the occasion by Kath Searle, which the candidates all attempted to cut together with the Bishop.

Saturday 1 November 2008, 12 p.m., Lord Pirbright's Hall: "St. Michael's into the Future" - presentation of our vision and 5-year plan to put St. Michael's at the heart of the village community. Sunday 9 November 2008, Service of Remembrance

This is always a moving service, as we honour and remember all those who have given their lives in the service of their country. This year, we were very pleased to welcome a party of Brownies and Guides from Brookwood, who joined the parade to the memorial with their flags. We were also delighted to welcome a contingent from the Royal Anglian Regiment, based in Pirbright, who last year returned from a tour of duty in Afghanistan. With them and the rest of the congregation we remembered the members of the Regiment who were killed in Afghanistan, as well as people from Pirbright who had given their lives in the 1914-18 and 1939-45 wars. The Last Post was played by a bugler from the Royal Anglians.
